LOVEBIRDS

Lovebirds originate from tropical parts of Africa & the island of Madagascar. They average 5" to 6" in size. They get their name from their affectionate nature and often mate for life.  Lovebirds, which are small parrots, have very similar intelligence and abilities to their larger cousins. They normally live from 10 to 15 years. They come in several species and  each have a variety of mutations with many colors to choose from.

Lots of attitude, energy & loving charm are just a few traits of this neat little bundle of feathers.  Some of them can learn to talk clearly but with a limited vocabulary. These little rascals think they are at least as big, if not bigger than any pet you own.

Many people believe you need two for it to work but this is not true. With one, the lovebird bonds with you instead of another Lovebird and can make an excellent pet. They can be clowns, hanging upside down from toys to riding on your shoulder. They love to be anywhere you are, including the car, on a trip or cuddling up while you watch TV. Make no mistake Lovebirds are addicting.  They are capable of entertaining themselves and love a cage-full of toys.

It is truly a great experience to own one .   We raise Peachface Mutations: Whiteface Australian and American, Creamino, Violets, Dutch Blue, and Pieds. We also raise Fischers  and Blue mutation Blackmask and Dilute Blackmask. Our babies are raised with other birds and get along quite well with them.
